H. E. Andreas Wiedenhoff, Ambassador of Austria to Croatia visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia

13 January 2016 - H. E. Andreas Wiedenhoff, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Croatia, visited today the Croatian Constitutional Court where he was received by Professor Dr Jasna Omejec, President and Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President of the Court. President Omejec informed the Ambassador about the organization and jurisdiction of the Croatian Constitutional Court and pointed out the differences and similarities between the constitutional and legal frameworks of the two countries. Mr. Wiedenhoff, a lawyer himself, was particularly interested in the election procedure of the Croatian Constitutional Court judges and their term of office given that in Austria the judges are elected in a different procedure and they remain at the Constitutional Court until reaching the age of seventy.

Both sides agreed that the two countries have plenty in common and emphasised a good multi-level cooperation.
