Dr Jiří Pospíšil, Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic paid a visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia

19 November 2010 - sident of the Croatian Constitutional Court, Professor Jasna Omejec, together with Professor Aldo Radolović, Deputy-president, received today Dr Jiří Pospíšil, Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic and associates who came to Croatia upon the invitation of the Croatian Minister of Justice. After President Omejec's presentation of the workings and organisation of the Croatian Constitutional Court they also addressed the review of constitutionality of constitutional amendments and constitutional laws. Namely, last year the Czech Constitutional Court repealed the Constitutional Law No 195/2009 on shortening the mandate of the Fifth sitting of the House of Representatives and the decision of the President of the Republic to call the Parliamentary Elections. To that regard, the Croatian Constitutional Court firmly holds is that it is not competent to review the constitutionality of the constitutional provisions.
