Ambassador of India in Croatia in a curtesy call on President Šeparović

27 November 2019 - President of the Croatian Constitutional Court, Dr Miroslav Šeparović, received today H.E. Arindam Bagchi, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Croatia, in a curtesy call. The meeting was also attended by Mr J. N. Majhi, Counsellor and Head of Chancery. In addition to the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court of Croatia and its operations, they also addressed the differences between legal systems of the two countries in respect of constitutional judiciary, given that in India the constitutional review is carried out by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court of India, consisted of at least five judges. Both sides agreed that regardless of the differences, the two systems have the protection of human rights at their core, which makes high quality cooperation possible. At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Bagchi handed out the special edition of the Constitution of the Republic of India published on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its entering into force.
