Upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation Mr. Valery Zorkin, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia made, from 1 to 4 July 2009, an official visit to the Russian Constitutional Court in Saint Petersburg. In the talks with the Russian colleagues Professor Jasna Omejec, President, and Judges Nevenka Šernohorst, LLD and Dr. Duška Šarin informed the judges about the Croatian constitutional judicature. The talks were also held about the problems encountered by the Russian Constitutional Court. Particular attention was paid to the relations between the Supreme and Constitutional courts of both countries as well as to the relations with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. During the visit the Croatian delegation was also received by the Governor of Saint Petersburg Mrs. Valentina Matviyenko.
