16 February 2023 - Dr Miroslav Šeparović, President of the Constitutional Court, received in a working visit Dr Siofra O'Leary, President of the European Court of Human Rights, who came to Croatia, in her first official presidential visit, accompanied by Prof Dr Davor Derenčinović, Judge in respect of Croatia, and Ms Marialene Tsirly, Secretary General of the Court. In addition to President Šeaparović, the meeting was also attended by Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President and Ms Sanja Trgovac, Head of the Service of Constitutional Court Advisers, who are in charge of the Constitutional Court's operational cooperation with the Strasbourg Court. A very successful collaboration and excellent dialog between the two courts at all levels has been highlighted in the talks. President O'Leary particularly emphasised the leading role of the Constitutional Court in the successful transposition of Convention standards in the Croatian legal order and complimented the efforts that are constantly being made to that regard. In this sense, they found it essential that all the stakeholders are involved in continuous education about the effective application of the Convention law and jurisprudence of the Strasbourg Court.
