Participants of the Croatian-German-Czech-Polish Seminar on the Protection of Human Rights in Criminal Proceedings visited the Constitutional Court

24 October 2014 - within the Seminar on the protection of human rights in criminal proceedings, held from 22 to 26 October 2014 in Zagreb in the organisation of the Zagreb Law Faculty, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Law Faculty of the Passau University and Plzeň University, the participants visited the Constitutional Court today. Judge Slavica Banić, who received the students, informed them about the organisation and functioning of the Court and emphasised judgments of this Court related to the protection of the right to prohibition of torture and inhuman and degrading treatment of persons deprived of liberty and interpretation of the ne bis in idem principle in the Constitutional Court case-law. They also discussed the differences and similarities between the legal systems of Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and Croatia.
