XVIIth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts

3 July 2017 - The XVIIth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts (CECC), hosted by the Constitutional Court of Georgia, was held from 28 to 30 June 2017 in Batumi. Such congresses, organised by the CECC every three years, provide an extremely important pan-European forum for an exchange of experience with respect to constitutional practice and jurisprudence in the general European context. At this Congress the Constitutional Court of Croatia was represented by Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President and Mrs Sanja Trgovac, Head of the Record and Documentation Centre.

The theme of the XVIIth Congress was "Role of the Constitutional Courts in Upholding and Applying the Constitutional Principles". Within the framework of the main theme and on the basis of the national reports submitted by the individual constitutional courts, the Congress focused on various questions related to constitutional principles. At the Congress, Deputy President Bagić presented the contribution titled:  "The Role of the Croatian Constitutional Court in Defining and Applying Constitutional Principles".

The next, XVIIIth Congress is going to take place in Prague, the Czech Republic, in 2020.
