105th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe

21 December 2015 - Professor Jasna Omejec, President of the Constitutional Court and a member of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) from the Republic of Croatia participated in its 105th Plenary Session, held in Venice on 18 and 19 December 2015.

In addition to regular activities of the Commission related to the constitutional assistance, elections and referendum issues, the Agenda also entailed the election of the new president, vice-presidents and the members of the Bureau. The Commission re-elected Mr. Gianni Buquicchio (member of the Commission from Italy) as the President, and elected Ms Hanna Suchocka (member of the Commission from Poland) as the Ist Vice-president. Dr Herdis Thorgeirsdóttir (member of the Commission from Island) and Prof. Christoph Grabenwarter (member of the Commission from Austria) were elected Vice-presidents of the Commission. President Omejec was elected Deputy President of the Sub-Commission on gender equality. The next Plenary Session will be held on 11 and 12 March 2016.
