Constitutional Court Judges visited Istria

28 February 2009 - The Judges of the Croatian Constitutional Court visited, during a two-day working visit to the Istria County, Poreč, Pula, Brijuni and Hum. On Friday 27 March, Professor Jasna Omejec, President of the Court, held a lecture in Pula on the legality of the Croatian state and on the challenges Croatia has to face prior to its accession to the EU with regard to the reception of the acquis communautaire of not only the EU but also that of the Council of Europe. Mr. Ivan Jakovčić, President of the Istria County, also noted in his introductory speech that this first working meeting of the constitutional judges with judges, public attorneys, attorneys at law, mayors, municipal officials and state administration heads of the Istria County undoubtedly deserves attention for the talks and meetings of the Constitutional Court with the representatives of all bodies - both self-government and the state ones - which are somehow being reviewed by the Constitutional Court - make it possible for the existing problems to be more efficiently resolved.
