23 - 26 September 2010 - President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Haşim Kiliç, together with Judge Serdar Özgüldür and Judge Rapporteur Ali Riza Çoban, was, upon the invitation of Professor Jasna Omejec, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia, in the working and official visit to our country. The visit included several official meetings - with Mr. Luka Bebić, President of the Croatian Parliament; Mrs Jadranka Kosor, President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Professor Željko Potočnjak, Dean of the Zagreb Law Faculty, where President Kiliç held a lecture on the Constitutional changes in the Republic of Turkey. At the working meeting, held on 24 September, the judges of the Turkish and Croatian Constitutional Courts exchanged experiences in relation to the organisation of constitutional judiciary in the two countries. In particular they addressed the individual protection of human rights by the constitutional complaint, which institute was introduced in the Turkish legal order by the Constitutional amendments of 12 September 2010. The members of both Courts concluded that this visit will not only deepen the relations between the two Courts, but also between Portugal and Croatia.
