12 June 2007 - Prof. Petar Klarić, President and Prof. Jasna Omejec, Deputy President of the Court received early this morning Ms. Heli Vesaaja, independent expert of the EU Commission, who has, within her visit to Croatia with the aim of evaluation of the Croatian judiciary and internal affairs and of the improvement achieved therein since the last mission, visited the Croatian Constitutional Court. The meeting, attended also by Snežana Dokić Marković, Legal Advisor with the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia and Ana Marija Markt with the Croatian Ministry of Justice, was held on the jurisdiction, organization and workings of the Croatian Constitutional Court in the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Ms. Vesaaja showed particular interest in the election procedure of Constitutional Court judges and its conduct.
